Job Description

Macrocyclics, Inc. is the global leader for the development of chelation chemistry technologies that are critical for advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic medicines used in the treatment of cancer.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our laboratory team. The ideal individual should have a degree in chemistry (B.S.) with experience in a production laboratory setting. This is an entry-level position and is well suited to someone who wants to learn and establish a long-term career.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Chemical synthesis – follow batch records to manufacture products.

  • Analytical testing – perform routine tests on intermediates and finished products.

  • Write standard operating procedures for testing and batch records for new products

  • Maintain accurate records for all laboratory work

  • Assists senior scientists in process development and manufacturing for customer projects

  • Cleaning and organization of glassware

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be willing to become familiar with all company policies and procedures regarding safety and operations

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Able to learn and adhere to all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to Macrocyclics GMP quality system

  • Good planning and organizational skills; limited supervision needed

  • Able to multi-task, manage time, and work under pressure


  • Bachelor degree in chemistry

  • Previous experience in laboratory operations preferred (0-2 years)

  • Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment/procedures including HPLC, FTIR, MS and Wet Chemistry techniques

  • Intermediate computer skills. (MS Word, Excel preferred)

  • Basic Math skills (Mandatory)

  • Proficient in English, excellent verbal and written communication ability

  • US citizen or Green Card

    Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Physical activity includes bending, reaching, stretching, as related to small and large scale chemical reactions

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
