CPD&D Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Weekly Schedule (how many hours/days): 40 hours

Shift: 8am - 5pm

Interview required? Yes: Virtual then Onsite

Any specific skills or requirements you want in a candidate: would like strong candidates with Bio/Chem experience. -- Self Motivated, willing to learn, able to work independently

Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required? No.

Responsibilities:

Assist with HPLC analysis of materials (previous analytical experience desirable)

Support routine sample preparation and characterization

Compliance with laboratory safety procedures

Other responsibilities include:

Be able to run and operate sample characterization instrumentation

Consistently applies sound scientific methods to solve technical problems.

Assist with qualifying new active ingredient and raw material sources and supports shelf life date extensions for existing products.

Requirements:

Prior experience in research or manufacturing/engineering.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Experience in a chemistry lab is desirable.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate information and data sharing with stakeholders.

Education

BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related fields

Experience with the design and development of formulations is desirable

CPD&D Group's General Overview (above are the position specific requirements):

1. Educational Requirements:

o BS in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related fields) is required. Degree in some specific areas might be preferred for some positions (Example: CPDD areas where degree in chemistry or chemical engineering might be preferred).

2. Core Responsibilities:

o Laboratory Work: This position involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, handling laboratory equipment and it is 100% site based. Routine research laboratory specific activities might be different base on the different CPD&D area recruiting focus (Example: Formulation labs: Prepares formulation samples and tests for physical properties and assists with formulation preparation and characterization; Active Ingredient labs: small lab scale-up activities, support to manufacturing facilities troubleshooting, etc...)

3. Technical Skills and previous experience

Lab Equipment and Techniques: This position requires familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques. Knowledge of chemical & analytical skills and equipment setup is required.

Prior Lab Experience: 2 years+ prior relevant experience working in a research or manufacturing/engineering laboratory environment is required.

4. Safety and Compliance:

Adherence to *** Safety Protocols: Understands and follows EH&S standards. Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated. Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.

5. Soft Skills:

Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective documentation and communication of results, good organization skills, follow SOPs, and adhere to safety protocols, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Check samples in - Maintain sample inventory.

Weigh samples and maintain laboratory records.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Critical Success Factors:

Technical Ability: Must be familiar with working in a chemical laboratory. Must be able to work cross-functionally to deliver high quality support within timelines to meet project goals and enable decisions. Analytical purification experience is desirable, but not required.

Interpersonal Effectiveness and Teamwork: All activities are conducted in a team-based environment. The individual must interact well with others and be able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.

Customer Focus: Must be able to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.

Desirable Skills:

Able to manage laboratory instrument upkeep, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Excellent communication and prioritization skills; ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.

Education

BS in Chemistry or Biology or related STEM fields.
