Description

The Analytical Technician will work, under minimal supervision of the Sr. Research Scientist, on various short- and long-term projects (in-house and outside requests). The incumbent will work in a hands-on capacity to assist the Sr. Research Scientist with assigned projects. He or she will be responsible for the testing customer implementations of microorganisms and preparing. The successful candidate will participate with internal and customer driven research projects. He or she will maintain accurate and timely record of test results; perform standard and complex laboratory procedures; work collaboratively with various departments to compile, analyze, and interpret data. The work will consist of plating of organisms, lysozyme testing, organism testing, modified info test, etc.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

The responsibilities of a Research Analytical Chemist include, but are not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project from inception to completion / revenue generation
  • Perform a variety of laboratory techniques and/or protocols for Analytical Chemistry/Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Minimum -Associates (2 year degree) of Science Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minor travel involved (Local to worksite)

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Previous laboratory experience
  • Basic laboratory skills (e.g. pipetting, weighing, dilutions, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS office, excel, and power point

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Quality Control and knowledge of cGMP
  • Independent research projects
  • Troubleshooting
  • Experience with any of the following: PCR, Real-Time PCR, Microbial plating, ELISA, SDS-Page

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
