Quality Control Technician - 2nd Shift

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the performance of Quality Control testing, accurate data recording, and documenting compliance to specification of the Hoosick Falls product base. An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the Company's Policies is required. An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned):
Required testing of all manufactured products (all departments) following required protocols using hand-held, bench-top, and specialty equipment
Provide test results to Production
Provide visual inspection of product and product packaging.
Maintain all records pertaining to testing performed
Perform data entry for all product tests
Prepare Certification of Conformance using AutoCert system
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the shift supervisor / department manager
Maintain the work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
Must be willing to accept and receive supervision and assistance as well as participate as a team member
Must be capable of working independently and reliably to complete needed tasks in support of Production, Shipping, and Customers
Work with multiple functional areas including R D, Process Engineering, Production, Material and Shipping, and Customer Care
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Must have a strong commitment to working safely
Maintain a 5S acceptable work area
Housekeeping duties as needed/directed
Support and participate in WCM activities
Ability to work varied hours/days/overtime as business dictates
Willingness to work in a laboratory, or in the production area (all departments) as business needs dictate
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Work Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment are preferred. Will substitute for equivalent work experience.
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Must be able to read and interpret product specifications and work instructions.
Strong aptitude for testing procedures.
Computer literacy including:
Use of spreadsheets (Excel) to perform simple math and create basic reports
Use of Email
Use and knowledge of plant software systems like QAD, SPC, and AutoCert is desired
Ability to use basic hand-held measuring tools.
Good communication skills and an appreciation for detail orientated tasks.
Process Control Methodology knowledge highly desired and preferred
Technical Skills:
Computer skills required.
Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and MS PowerPoint
Experience with statistical software (MiniTab/SPC) - Preferred
Experience with QAD - Preferred
Familiarity with ASTM test methods/procedures - Preferred
Ability to read, follow, & interpret work instructions
Analytical skills
Additional technical and other training as required for new technology, systems and procedures

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $16.00 to $40.21 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Estimated starting salary for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour for external applicants. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee
