ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / NATURAL RESOURCES / PACHECO STATE PARK
The reporting location for this position is Pacheco State Park in Los Banos, CA. This position will work under the close supervision of Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).
The Central Valley District is looking for a team player to steward the natural resources in the beautiful blue oak woodland at Pacheco State Park. The position is a district-wide position meaning there may be other natural resource related assignments throughout the Central Valley District.
The Environmental Scientist will have the primary responsibility for oversight of the vegetation management program including the cattle grazing program, native plant protection and exotic species management; threatened and endangered species management (wildlife and plant life); oversight of the feral pig program; preparing regulatory and compliance documents for internal environmental review, drafting reports and preparing for routing correspondence; researches and applies for grant funding; and will do other natural resources related work.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C drivers license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your drivers license on your application. Ensure you provide your drivers license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
