Process Engineer, Senior - Photolithography

In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting, improving, and developing photolithography processes for compound III-IV semiconductors at the fab in Lowell, Massachusetts. This work will be done in close partnership with Process Engineers, Device and Integration Engineers, Design Engineers, and the Fab production team. A strong knowledge of compound semiconductor processing, exceptional communication skills, and an optimistic, can-do approach are essential to success in this role. The Lowell fab is a high product mixture and dynamic fab, requiring good prioritization and excellent judgement. You will be expected to set deliverables and achieve desired results. The position reports to the Photolithography Group Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and conducting experiments to characterize photolithography processes.
  • Driving improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability, productivity, and safety.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent with 5 years of fab experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the programming and operation of lithography tools like tracks, contact aligners, steppers, SEMs, and/or overlay measurement tools.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in compound semiconductor processes.

  • Strong understanding of data mining and statistics, SPC, DOE, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving.

  • Must have a proven track record of project ownership, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.

  • Must display a strong sense of ownership, drive, and dedication to continuous improvement.

  • Must display an enthusiastic boldness for taking on aggressive goals and a commitment to achieving them.

  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve processes.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and findings, creating process and equipment specifications and work instructions for other engineers and for technicians in the Fab.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
