Responsibilities include sampling, testing, data gathering, interpreting and report writing as well as developing protocols and writing operating procedures. Technical guidance and direction will be provided. This is not a research position. Applicants with strong organizational skills and attention to detail are preferred. Essential Functions:
1. General laboratory analysis and management of the environmental monitoring program. This includes water, air, surface and personnel testing for microbes and particles (air).
2. Assist/lead in designing, executing and documenting microbial (and other types of) studies that characterize and validate the performance of the equipment, systems, processes and procedures. These include water purification, sterilization, disinfection and gowning.
3. Assist in product and process development
4. Write operating procedures associated with the above.
5. Work to maintain the laboratory operations in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology or related area. Entry-level applicants only. Applications from recruiters will not be considered. Applicant must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, work in confined space (less than 3 ft. by 4 ft) for short periods of time and in close proximity to other people. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and near vision acuity is required and tested. In-state applicants will be given priority consideration. Afton Scientific will not sponsor Visas.
