Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and industry standards. This role involves working with a range of laboratory instrumentation and software systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Description
- Perform quality control testing on finished products including microspheres, zeolites, FCC catalysts, and alumina
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as: pH meters, Analytical balances, Microwave digestion ovens, Surface area analyzers, Atomic absorption (AA), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and diffraction (XRD), Particle size analyzers
- Calibrate and verify equipment functionality according to standard procedures
- Prepare and analyze environmental effluent samples
- Prepare samples and documentation for product release and shipping
- Record acc urate experimental observations and enter data into LIMS and other systems
- Interpret control charts and report out-of-specification results per site procedures
- Follow established SOPs, work instructions, and safety protocols
- Communicate analytical findings to operations staff in a clear and timely manner
- Maintain and restock laboratory consumables
- Support lab team with procedure reviews and improvement suggestions
- Handle both routine and non-routine sample types using basic LIMS functions
Skills Required
- Prior experience with wet chemistry and analytical instrumentation preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Clear and e ffective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and shift schedules
- Basic troubleshooting abilities (e.g., recognizing error codes, restarting instruments, checking tubing)
- Ability to understand and follow SOPs, perform basic lab math, and pipetting/dilution tasks
Education
- BS in Chemistry or a related field
- OR 2+ years of applicable laboratory experience (may substitute for degree)
Additional Requirements
- Shift: M-F 6 AM - 6 PM
