General Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the analysis of the real estate and consumer lending loan origination process to ensure CCU manufactures quality loans that adhere to state and regulatory compliance requirements and meet lending and investor guidelines. Reviews are performed on a sampling of loans to identify and mitigate deficiencies.

Principal Accountabilities (95%)

Performs residential Real Estate pre-fund and post-close quality control reviews, to include sample selections, deficiency analysis, and remediation.

Performs residential Real Estate vendor oversight on a sampling of the real estate pre-fund and post-close loans selected for review and reports deficiencies to management.

Performs HELOC quality control reviews on a sampling of loans and reports deficiencies to management.

Performs HELOC data integrity reviews on all loan originations. This includes a validation of inaccuracies in the core system and observing correction of data deficiencies.

Performs quality control on a sampling of consumer loans including auto, credit cards, as well as other secured and unsecured loan products and reports deficiencies to management.

Generates and reviews various quality control reports.

Supports the Appraisal Management process, including Mercury Network administration activities and reconciliation of the appraisal orders.

Supports Fannie Mae loan quality review efforts by ensuring all required documentation is present in the loan file and absent of significant deficiencies. Assist in the mitigation of deficiencies when applicable.

Provides excellent service to members (external and internal) by completing assigned tasks timely, efficiently, and with minimal errors.

Maintains frequent interactions with the quality control vendor, lending business units, and branch personnel to aid in analysis and mitigation of loan deficiencies. Includes QC management involvement when necessary.

Secondary Accountabilities (5%)

Provides backup support to the department.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintain ongoing quality control training and knowledge.

Position Requirement and Qualifications

Abilities: Excellent attention to detail, analysis, problem-solving teamwork, time management, and member service skills to include both written and verbal communication. Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision. Able to handle competing priorities.

Knowledge, Education, Certifications, Licenses: Requires a strong knowledge of mortgage and consumer loan terminology, documentation, lending policies and guidelines. Working knowledge of the loan origination process and relevant laws and regulations related to lending. Proficient in MS Word and Excel and other relevant computer applications. General knowledge of credit union policies and procedures. High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of three years of work experience in the mortgage and/or consumer lending industry or equivalent required to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to handle all aspects of the position.
