The Cathode manufacturing process design team is looking for an Engineer that is motivated and well organized to implement, develop, and optimize process improvements as well as help develop next stage processes through the application of first engineering principles. This role includes working with both production and development resources to identify novel and safe approaches to manufacturing cathode materials in Austin, TX. The desire to work in a fast pace and rewarding work environment is critical. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple work streams, properly prioritize deliverables and work within a multiple discipline team (controls, mechanical, EHS maintenance, etc.)

  • Applyengineeringfundamentalsand abroad set of process engineering toolsto solve technical problemsand create noveldetaileddesigns to address root cause of issue
  • Provide process engineering support to operations to help resolve process bottlenecks and other long-standing issues
  • Evaluate early stage/ lab scale processes for future production scale applications
  • Help develop detailed process designsincluding the following deliverables: Scopedevelopmentand basis of design document development
  • Implement and drive completion of management of change for process changes
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of multiple stages of the cathode manufacturing process
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for process upsets and provide feedback on how to prevent future upsets
  • Utilize process and lab data to provide recommendations on quality improvements for our cathode production process
  • Degree in Chemical, Process or Material Science Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-4+years of experience in chemical Process Design, Process Improvement or Operationswithina high-tech industry such as semiconductor, specialty chemical, solar, battery, etc.
  • Experience with powder handling equipment (transport, weighment and mixing experience preferred)
  • Ability to participate process hazard evaluations and HAZOP reviews
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task and prioritize work inafast-pacedenvironmentwith evolvingchangesin design requirements
  • A positive, "do the impossible" attitude and ability to communicate with peers and stakeholders at all levels and engineering disciplines
