EXPERIENCE: BS Chemical Engineering may consider a EE. Minimum of 5 years of experience and up to 20 years of experience as Process Control Engineer with DCS ( Delta V is ideal) from the Chemical Process, Petro Chemical or Refining or related industries for example the Paper Industries. Looking for someone who can program, control logic and control loops. Someone who improve their process via controls.
DUTIES: This Engineer will work at their Freeport TX site and support other plants as well as their main Process Control Engineer. This is a 240 person chemical plant and they just installed a new Delta V DCS and this person will implement control strategies and safely. Will also keep in compliance with EHS and Safety via controls.

General Description: The Process Controls Engineer ( PCE) will work with site personnel and vendors/suppliers to implement and support automation systems throughout the facility ( ies). In this role, the PCE understands the basic plant processes and equipment, and apply the appropriate automation systems to those processes, including programming, hardware and software specifications, and start-up and operations support. Process Controls Engineer Functional Role Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance Provides technical support to Affiliate manufacturing operations and all its personnel Develops training for operations personnel on automation systems and process control strategies Identifies automation project needs and assist with development of the capital budgets Implements process control strategies to batch and continuous manufacturing equipment Supports site automation systems including activities such as troubleshooting, programming, preventative maintenance, back-ups, systems integration, and future planning Participates in Management of Change ( MOC) processes that are related to process control for chemistries, formulas, and equipment Actively involved in proposing the direction and implementation of the DCS operating system Proposes solutions to address the IT/OT convergence and issue resolution concerning ( i.e. cybersecurity, operating system updates, life cycle management) Leads and coordinates implementation/modification of automation/monitoring systems on multiple platforms: Honeywell TDC 3000, Delta V, Yokogawa, Triconex, PI and PLCs Assists with development and review of scopes of work to ensure all automation concerns are adequately addressed Assists Engineering with development of cost justification for capital projects. Provides technical support for new equipment/process start-ups and operation Leads/participates in Preliminary Hazard Reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, and Pre Start-up Safety Reviews ( PSSR) Track and report monthly metrics ( Key Performance Indicators, KPIs) as well as prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiatives Satisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management System Practice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in the Responsible Care Management System and adhere to the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care 14001
