Job Summary:
The Yang laboratory at the John A. Moran Eye Center of the University of Utah is actively seeking an individual to conduct research on the disease mechanisms underlying inherited hearing loss and the cell biology of hair cells, employing various approaches in mouse genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, omics, and multiple microscopy techniques.

Responsibilities:
  1. Independently conduct experiments, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  2. Learn and implement new techniques, optimize and troubleshoot existing protocols through literature search and colleague communication.
  3. Train graduate and undergraduate students and collaborate with team members.
  4. Participate in manuscript and grant preparation and writing.


Minimum Qualifications:
This position is for a highly motivated individual with experience in mouse cochlear and vestibular organ dissection, immunostaining, scanning electron microscopy, and rodent hearing tests.
