Duties:Essential Functions: 1. Collects qualitative data including but not limited to survey taking, conducting key informant interviews, focus groups and follow-up calls with program participants on an as needed basis. 2. Travels for data collection activities. 3. Provides training and technical assistance to tribal organizations, health clinics, and American Indian community members. 4. Assists with obtaining data sharing agreements with Indian health programs. 5. Works with staff and collaborators to organize and produce competitive grant applications. 6. Reviews and understand requirements of funding announcements (such as requests for applications and program announcements). 7. Assists with grant proposal development, including helping team create submission timelines. Assists with literature reviews, works with staff to form proposal outline, prepares budget justification and narratives, and ensures that all grant proposals meet CRIHB and funding agency requirements, are complete and completed on time. 8. Submits grants, progress reports, final reports, grant renewals or other reports as requested. 9. Reviews, edits, and proofs documents. 10. Writes and organizes templates for proposals, report documents, presentations and promotional materials. 11. Assists with maintaining CTEC website information. 12. Regular and predictable attendance. 13. Other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: 1. Maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to be insurable under CRIHB's automobile insurance. 2. Position requires substantial overnight travel. 3. Requires ability to drive up to 7 hours a day.
Qualifications:Qualifications: 1. A Master's degree preferred or a Bachelor's degree is required. 2. At least two years of proven experience in technical writing or grant writing coordination. 3. Experience in health research or data collection and processing activities preferred. 4. Experience in coordinating submission of grant proposals to funding agencies, such as National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention preferred. 5. Exhibit excellent writing skills (providing a sample of written work). 6. Experience in data collection (i.e., surveys, focus groups and interviews) and/or data processing activities desirable. 7. High level of organization and motivation. 8. Must have strong communication skills and be comfortable interacting with people. The ability to moderate groups of people in an interview setting in an organized, confident yet respectful manner is very desirable to this role. 9. Knowledge of and experience in editing technical reports a plus. 10. Must have computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and the ability to perform literature searches related to a project.
