Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is proud to partner with a leading environmental testingpany located in Fort Wayne, NJ, to hire an experienced Analytical Chemist specializing in Environmental Testing.
We are seeking a detail-oriented chemist to prepare and analyze environmental and drinking water samples using standard analytical techniques. The role follows established EPA methodologies, quality assurance programs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This position is hands-on and may involve physical activity, including standing for extended periods, and working withanic solvents, laboratory glassware, and specialized instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples using standard techniques.
Conduct chemical analyses using EPA-approved methods.
Prioritize work to meet extraction and analysis hold times.
Analyze drinking water and environmental samples foranic semi-volatilepounds, including pesticides, PCBs, SVOCs, SOCs, and PFAS.
Utilize instrumentation such as GC/ECD, GC/MS, HPLC, and LC/MS/MS.
Review raw data, chromatograms, and mass spectra for accuracy, interferences, and properpound identification.
Prepare and analyze duplicates, dilutions, and QC samples as required.
Maintain accurate documentation of all test results and anomalies.
Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Utilize instrument-specific software (training provided).
Ensure training records and documentation (IDOC/DOC) are current.
Complete scheduled QC samples including MDL, LOD/LOQ, and PT samples.
Maintain a clean andanized work area.
Demonstrate proficiency in at least 50% of department methods (IDOC-certified).
Ad to Element Materials Technology's environmental, health & safety, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
5-10 years of analytical chemistry experience in an Environmental Science or Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) setting.
Hands-on experience with HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and wet chemistry techniques.
Familiarity with EPA methods 1633A, 533, or 537.1 Rev
2.0
is a strong plus.
Experience with LIMS and data entry protocols.
Proficient in calibration standards and QC sample preparation/analysis.
Stronganizational and time management skills.
Ability to schedule and prioritize work to meet sample holding times and turnaround goals.
Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Excellentmunication skills (verbal and written).
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
