Materials Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Materials Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of hands-on laboratory-based materials testing and characterization activities to support the reactor.
• Perform metallography and characterization for a wide range of metallic and ceramic materials.
• Generate test reports detailing test or characterization and resulting data to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualification.
• Operate materials focused laboratory equipment (e.g., furnaces, polishing equipment, metallography equipment, SEM-EDS, etc).
• Assist with the design, fabrication, and operation of custom laboratory experiments.
• Perform formal receipt inspections of incoming materials, update inventory, and physically maintain the controlled material storage area.

Job Qualifications:

• A Technology, Bachelors, or advanced degree with related experience, or equivalent experience. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or a related technical discipline is desired.
• Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience is required
• Metallography and SEM-EDS experience are required
• Lab management experience (e.g., maintaining spaces and/or equipment and training users) is preferred but not required
• Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 is preferred
• Strong communication skills desired.
• The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract
• Location: Everett, WA (Onsite).
• Pay Rate Range: $53-60/hr.
• Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status.
