Job Title: Materials Engineer

Company Overview:
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Materials Engineer for a long-term contract, with an onsite work model. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to contribute to the innovation and development of components for advanced reactor technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Materials Engineer, you will be an integral member of a high-functioning team dedicated to materials testing, characterization, and supply chain development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting a variety of hands-on laboratory testing and characterization across metallic and ceramic materials.
- Performing metallography and material characterization using advanced techniques and equipment (e.g., SEM-EDS).
- Generating detailed test reports to document findings and contribute new insights for material design and qualification.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including furnaces and polishing apparatus, ensuring optimal functioning and safety.
- Assisting in the design, fabrication, and execution of custom laboratory experiments tailored to project needs.
- Conducting formal inspections of incoming materials, maintaining controlled storage areas, and managing inventory effectively.
Key Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelors, Technology, or advanced degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred, along with pertinent experience.
- Proven hands-on laboratory experience, particularly with metallography and SEM-EDS, is essential.
- Lab management experience, including maintaining spaces and training users, is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ASME NQA-1) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork, integrity, and respectfulness.
