Medical Laboratory Technician

Hospital setting - Full Time - Schedules 3x12's, 4x10's, 5x8's

  • Core Duties :
    • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests across multiple areas (microbiology, blood banking, serology, chemistry, hematology, etc.).
    • Collect and process specimens according to established policies.
    • Operate laboratory instruments and perform quality control checks.
    • Analyze and interpret results, ensuring accuracy.
    • Communicate results to physicians, nursing staff, and patients as needed.
    • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adhere to safety policies.
    • Provide care for patients of all age groups, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education : Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing : Eligible for or currently registered as an MLT (ASCP) or equivalent; must hold or be eligible for North Dakota licensure.
  • Certifications : BLS certification (CPR), must attend Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • Experience : Six to twelve months of experience in a hospital training program.
  • Other : Regular, punctual attendance is required. Must be able to adapt to shifting duties and emergency situations. Must hold a valid North Dakota drivers license.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess laboratory data and quality control results.
  • Ability to operate complex medical equipment.
  • Good communication skills for working with healthcare teams and patients.
  • Must work independently and be able to troubleshoot issues and make decisions with minimal supervision.

Salary Range :

  • $25.50 to $37.60 per hour (depending on experience).
