Position Overview:

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist , you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Youll play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely results that are essential for patient care, while adhering to established protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Diagnostic Testing: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank.
  • Analyze Results: Accurately interpret test results, ensuring precision and attention to detail in every step of the process.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with physicians, pathologists, and other healthcare providers to deliver the best outcomes for patients.
  • Maintain Equipment: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure consistent and reliable results.
  • Quality Control: Adhere to laboratory safety and quality control protocols to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Patient Care: Though youll work primarily behind the scenes, your work directly impacts the quality of patient care and the success of treatment plans.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent accrediting body required.
  • Experience: Previous laboratory experience preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licensing: State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana is required.
