The Position: The Operations Process Engineer provides technical support and project leadership to optimize productivity, quality, safety, and environmental performance across operations. The role is key in driving continuous improvement, influenced by internal factors like training, procedures, and maintenance, and external factors such as regional directives, contractor performance, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you will do:

  • Champion INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, asset care, and environmental performance.
  • Develop and manage operating envelopes (OE), safety critical alarms (SCAs), and safety critical systems (SCSs).
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, PHAs, and LOPAs.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Troubleshoot and improve process capability, reliability, and product quality.
  • Manage OE, SCA, and SCS databases; apply alarm management best practices.
  • Track quality performance and lead Root Cause Investigations (RCI) for non-conforming materials.
  • Collaborate with service groups to ensure timely and cost-effective work execution.
  • Provide technical training support for operational teams.
  • Contribute to budgeting, reporting, and production scheduling.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Support shutdown planning, capital projects, and maintenance execution.

What you will bring:

Level of education & knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.

Experience in general:

  • 2-5 years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing plant preferred.

Technical skills:

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • CAPEX project execution experience.
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC), PHA, and LOPA preferred.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) experience is a plus.

Competencies, Behavioral skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in teams.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

The annual base salary for this position typically ranges between $89,381 and $111,726. Additionally, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as part of their total compensation package. This salary range is an estimate based on candidate qualifications, operational needs, and business performance metrics. Actual compensation may vary above or below the stated range, as permitted by applicable laws.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At INEOS Styrolution, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are carefully made based on the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
