We are seeking a Senior Staff Process Engineer to join our client's team in the oil and gas industry, focusing on optimizing production processes and enhancing operational efficiency.
Role Overview
Support operations with production bottlenecks, process optimization, phase separation, and chemical applications.
Conduct surveillance on equipment and processes.
Understand overall platform material and energy balances.
Identify remedial or proactive measures to sustain or improve uptime.
Interface with 3rd party chemical providers regarding sampling, monitoring, and data collection.
Ensure that export product quality meets pipeline and overboard water specifications.
Optimize equipment and control systems to minimize process-related downtime.
Establish KPIs for performance of major equipment and processes including their operating envelopes.
Plan and execute process improvements to reduce expenses and increase efficiency and uptime.
Participate in facility and major project hazard reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
Data analytics and regression techniques.
Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques.
Proficiency in process software (HYSYS, UniSim, PVTSim, PipeSim).
MS Office applications.
Ability to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, SAFDs, and equipment data sheets.
Familiarity with oil and gas processes including gas-liquid and water-oil separation.
Understanding of pump, reciprocating, and turbine compression systems.
Knowledge of pressure relief, separator, heat exchanger, and control valve designs.
Basic understanding of corrosion, scaling, emulsion, and foaming mechanisms.
Knowledge of ASME B31.3, API standards, and project management principles.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Chemical Engineering with a focus on fluid mechanics and hydrocarbon processing preferred.
Experience: 10-15 years in oil and gas processing required; offshore Gulf of Mexico experience preferred.
