South Dakota State University is seeking a Research Associate III to join a dedicated team focused on improving maternal and infant health across the state. In this role, you'll support the South Dakota Perinatal Quality Collaborative and work closely with the Executive Director on quality improvement efforts tied to the BIRTH-SD-AIM grant. With a focus on perinatal mental health, you'll help plan and implement initiatives, contribute to research and grant writing, and share findings through publications, presentations, and community outreach. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. This is a grant funded position through August 2027 and position is contingent upon grant funding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the BIRTH-SD-AIM grant and related SDPQC initiatives.
Support the full lifecycle of projects, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the development and submission of grant proposals related to maternal and child health across South Dakota and the broader region.
Represent the program at public events, sharing updates and outcomes with a variety of audiences.
Contribute to the dissemination of findings through presentations, publications, and community outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree completed by date of application in Public Health or related field;
At least one year of experience following completion of Master's degree;
Previous research experience;
Demonstrated interest in maternal and child health;
Experience assisting with grant applications and demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills;
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks; and
Valid drivers license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous teaching experience;
Understanding of and training in communication;
Previous experience working with Perinatal Quality Collaboratives;
Strong interpersonal skills; and
Ability to oversee and track budgets.
