AMP is hiring a Principal Chemical Engineer reporting to the Director of Hardware. We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to lead our valorization initiatives, focusing on projects with materials and chemicalponents. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in process optimization, pollutant remediation, and sustainable material development to help drive our mission of maximizing value from waste streams.

As our Principal Chemical Engineer, you will work to:

Lead and manage valorization projects with chemical and materialsponents

Develop and optimize solutions for SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) pollutant mitigation

Research and improve bio-oil condensation processes

Investigate and enhance chemical aspects of biochar and biocoal production

Design and implement chemical processes, instrumentation, and equipment to ensure effectiveness in process engineering

Optimize mechanical and chemical processes to maximize yield, efficiency, and productivity for scaled manufacturing

Perform trials, tests, and experiments to support engineering, production, and R D activities

Design and implement pollutant remediation strategies and conductprehensive emissions analysis and develop mitigation strategies

Explore and develop new mechanical-chemical processes like plastic flake dry washing

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate chemical engineering solutions

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

8+ years of experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 5 years in sustainability-focused applications

Demonstrated expertise in Life Cycle Analysis and Technoeconomic analysis

Demonstrated expertise in pollutant mitigation and remediation technologies

Strong knowledge of biomass conversion processes and products (biochar, biocoal, bio-oil)

Experience with process optimization and yield improvement

Proven track record managingplex projects from concept to implementation

Proficiency with chemical process simulation software including ChemCAD and DWSIM

Experience with Microsoft Visio or similar for process flow diagrams and technical documentation

Python programming skills for data analysis and process modeling

Experience conducting emissions analysis and implementing control measures

Strongmunication skills, particularly when explainingplex technical concepts

Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment

Preferred:

10+ years of experience in chemical engineering with focus on waste valorization

Experience with SRF processing and related environmental challenges

Experience with plastic recycling technologies

Experience working in startup or high-growth environments

Experience with Carbon Capture and Biomass power generation

Familiarity with environmental regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies

Education:

Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field required
