Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and 2 years of related experience or master's degree in basic science or related field and no experience required.
Job Description:
Conducts variety of routine and non-routine research assignments and experiments in a high containment facility including Biosafety Levels 3 or 4.
Job Duties:
- Performs, coordinates, and conducts standard research experiments following general technical instructions.
- Performs functions of research projects utilizing bio-hazardous substances.
- Performs technical services such as tissue sampling, blood draws, anesthesia, and injections.
- Makes modifications to research techniques as required by investigator.
- Follows specific protocols. Conducts quality control measures for assigned project operations.
- Contributes to scientific analysis and projects.
- Orders and maintains lab inventory of supplies, animals, and equipment.
- Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected, compiles, and tabulates data, provides analysis of results, and engages in.
- Maintains knowledge of biohazard operations
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required

Working Environment/Equipment
Standard laboratory and office equipment.
High containment animal facility environment. Pregnancy may become a safety factor in some laboratory
animal science duties. Potential exposure to radiation and biohazards. Requires completion of appropriate
vaccinations.
