About the Job. The Principal Scientist is a key strategic role that drives innovation and shapes the future of our product portfolio. This position leads cross-functional development efforts from concept through commercializationleveraging deep technical expertise to identify new ingredients, technologies, and consumer-driven solutions. From formulating cutting-edge products and validating performance claims to guiding scale-up with Operations and mentoring talent, the Principal Scientist is vital in delivering innovation, ensuring product excellence, and fueling long-term business growth. About You. What you can expect in this role: In this role as Principal Scientist , you could expect to: Lead all technical and formula development aspects for key projects and advance them through the product development process, working cross-functionally with Engineers, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Procurement, Regulatory, Legal, and Operations Utilize technical expertise and formulation skills to identify new ingredients, technologies, and benefits, and develop new products that address consumer needs. Coordinate all technical testing and claims support needs for products, including performance testing, stability testing, safety tests, and consumer in-home use studies. Conduct ongoing competitor product and technology assessments to ensure understanding of the latest developments in relevant wet wipe product categories. Work with internal and external partners to identify new technologies and innovation opportunities that can be applied to Nice Pak's wet wipes portfolio for potential innovation and business growth opportunities. Develop technical product strategies and plans for innovative projects and execute with excellence. Develop, write, and validate new test methods to support new technology/benefit claims validation. Partner with Operations/Manufacturing personnel to validate and scale-up new product developments and innovations; issue justification proposals for any new equipment/process required to support innovation development and currently marketed products Build detailed technical knowledge of the respective wet wipe product portfolio and leverage it within daily activities and long-term product strategies. Foster personal development and growth with continuous coaching and feedback on career development, partnering with HR and the direct line manager Supervise and develop assigned direct reports, including career development and project prioritization. Collaborate with Marketing to develop, prioritize, and execute the project portfolio. What we expect from you in the role: You must be a champion of Nice-Pak; we protect our people, products, and customers. To embrace and embody our Core Values: Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence. 8-10 years of relevant work experience in formulation or related functions Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other science-related bachelor's degree; master's degree in chemical engineering preferred Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project). Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage and prioritize within a fast-paced environment. Effectively plan and demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and accuracy. Timely and accurate reporting and correspondence to stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Possesses a strong work ethic for working with and maintaining confidential information. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, take initiative/ownership, and achieve stated goals and objectives. Ability to work in a team environment, sharing information learned with other team members. Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision. Where you will work: In a laboratory and office environment with some travel to manufacturing facilities, vendors, and trade show events Physical Demands: This position's daily tasks require viewing computer screens, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time in office and laboratory environments.
