Position Description:

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Plant Pathology at North Dakota State University (NDSU). The successful candidate will conduct research on the sudden death syndrome of soybean, with a focus on the interaction between the causal fungus and soybean cyst nematode. Additional responsibilities include evaluating root rot caused by Rhizoctonia solani, and Pythium spp., including the use of sensor-based technologies for disease diagnosis and screening germplasms for disease resistance. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be expected to prepare research reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

This is a one-year, term-funded position with a strong possibility of renewal based on performance and continued funding. Education and Experience:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Plant Science, or a closely related field. Prior experience with soybean diseases is preferred. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both molecular and classical plant pathology techniques, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. A valid driver's license is required, or the candidate must be able to obtain one within one month of joining the lab.
