Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description
This entry-level laboratory position supports scientists with various project work. The role involves conducting laboratory tests, making observations, collecting and analyzing data, and recording observations. While some work experience may be beneficial, it is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests and experiments.
- Make accurate observations during experiments.
- Collect and analyze data from various laboratory procedures.
- Record observations and results systematically.
- Utilize standard and specialized laboratory equipment effectively.
- Assist in chemical laboratory operations.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory practices and scientific terminology.
- Familiarity with the characteristics and preparation of materials for experimental procedures.
- Proficiency in lab skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical aptitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2-year technical degree or a 4-year bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field (Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, etc.).
- 0-1 years of experience with general lab skills.
- Understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Experience with wet chemistry and chemical inventory management.
- Ability to prepare samples and conduct data analysis.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Work Environment
The typical workday is from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. There is flexibility in start and end times, aiming for presence during core hours of 9 am to 3 pm. The position is part of the Hygiene/Corp Tech team
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
