ABOUT THE TEAM

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Technician to join our dynamic team within the solid rocket propulsion industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, and production of solid rocket propellants and related chemical systems. The Chemical Technician will work closely with chemical engineers and other technicians to ensure high-quality production and adherence to industry safety standards.

ABOUT THE JOB

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and synthesis of solid rocket propellants and related energetic materials.
  • Conduct routine chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as mixers, casters, curing chambers, and analytical instruments.
  • Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and test results in laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Participate in the scale-up of laboratory processes to pilot and full-scale production.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Handle and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of safety practices and chemical handling procedures.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and findings to colleagues and management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory space, ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all products meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety training and emergency response drills, contributing to a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Assist in inventory management of chemicals and laboratory supplies.
  • Provide technical support to other departments as needed, such as production or quality control.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of wet laboratory experience, preferably in a chemical production or materials processing setting.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Strong record-keeping skills, with the ability to accurately record data, observations, and outcomes.
  • Familiarity with quality control practices and the ability to identify material non-conformities.
  • Proficient in following standard operating procedures and safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for both production tasks and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documenting production activities.
  • Physical ability to handle materials, equipment, and tools weighing up to 50 pounds, and to stand for extended periods during the manufacturing process.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with solid rocket propellants or similar energetic materials.
  • Technical training or certification in chemical technology, materials science, or a related field.
  • Basic computer proficiency for record entry and report generation.

US Salary Range

$48,000-$72,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
