Job Overview:

DirectPath is working with a leading electronics manufacturing company to hire an experienced Quality Control Technician . This key role is responsible for executing quality control procedures, inspecting products throughout the manufacturing process, and ensuring compliance with industry standards like IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum. The technician will conduct inspections on incoming materials, SMT setups, assembled products, and final hardware before shipment.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with at least 5 years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce quality assurance procedures on the manufacturing floor.
  • Inspect incoming materials and verify against specifications.
  • Confirm SMT line machine setups prior to production runs.
  • Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9100 standards .
  • Identify, record, and report visible defects and discrepancies in assembled hardware.
  • Compare products to engineering drawings and quality samples.
  • Maintain accurate defect tracking and reporting records.
  • Conduct final inspections on all outgoing hardware.
  • Generate written QA reports and communicate findings to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety and cleanliness protocols in the work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by quality management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in electronics or related manufacturing field.
  • Certifications in IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 Space Addendum (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong understanding of component identification, polarity, and soldering standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in statistical calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs and maintaining a clean work area.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen .
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening .
  • Must be available to work a 4/10 schedule (Monday–Thursday).
