Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a talented scientist with expertise in process water and effluent treatment and recycling in semiconductor fabs, automation, and control, to join the Global Micro-E RD&E team located in Naperville, IL as a Lead Chemical Engineer. This role will drive the development of innovative technologies on water treatment, effluent recycling, and process water for Microelectronics, communicate regularly with the customers, field reps, marketing, and business leaders and ensure a robust pipeline for new products and platforms that help our customers solve complex problems related to processes and water circularity.

What you will do:

  • Manage and drive projects that deliver unique chemistry and equipment solutions related to process water and effluent recycling for our Microelectronics customers.

  • Lead projects from ideation and prospecting through final validation and commercialization in collaboration with functions across the organization, including marketing, sales and supply chain.

  • Develop a technological roadmap for water, wastewater, and automation for Microelectronics customers

  • Engage with customers, sales engineers, and marketing functions to translate industry challenges into research platforms

  • Provide Advanced Technical Support for Microelectronics customers.

  • Develop innovative chemistries, automation, and digital tools for the Microelectronics Industry, with special emphasis on process water and wastewater treatment.

  • Collaborate with other researchers and field technical consultants to deploy new innovations in field applications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education

    • A PhD Degree in Chemistry, or a related technical discipline and 2 years of Industrial Research & Development experience; or

    • An MS Degree in Chemistry, or a related technical discipline and 4 years of Industrial Research & Development experience.

  • Experience developing innovative chemical, automation and/or digital technologies for process and industrial wastewater applications.

  • Ability to travel (domestic and international) up to 20%

  • Immigration Sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing innovative chemical technologies for process and effluent in the Microelectronics industry.

  • Proven experience in technical project leadership and implementation of strategic roadmaps

  • At least 2 years of experience working in the Microelectronics Industry with contaminant removal or related areas.

  • Experience working independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $104,700.00 - $157,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
