Senior Cloud Development Engineer (Multiple Openings)

What You'll Do at Pega:

• Responsible for Cloud Software Development:

• Implement code that meets engineering excellence standards with minimal oversight;

• Handle refactoring or updates of legacy features;

• Take ownership of a sprints/small epics and drive to completion;

• Design and implement features for maximum testability;

• Leverage DevOps-enabling automation tools and Continuous Delivery pipelines; and

• Use significant experience in Agile methodologies to implement scrum team best practices.

• Cloud Software Design:

• Understand and architect Cloud Services based on well-known design patterns;

• Evaluate and select with Justification the proper design patterns to solve a technical problem;

• Create technical design, document, and review with stakeholders;

• Break down the work for team to consume; and

• Be familiar with MVP, Microservice architecture design concepts and implement them on a daily basis.

• Create and manage powerful, Kubernetes-native systems using Golang or Java.

• Develop designs for services in a cloud-native environment.

• Explore new tools and technologies to improve Pega Cloud.

• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Operations teams in an Agile way.

• Offer guidance and support to teammates.

Who You Are:

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field of study, and

• 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving Software Development or Cloud Engineering.

• Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following:

• Python, Golang or Java;

• Developing services utilizing leading cloud technologies such as AWS, Google or Azure;

• Infrastructure as a Code using tools such as Helm, Terraform or CloudFormation;

• Docker and Kubernetes; and solving, troubleshooting, and

• Debugging Linux and development stack including Linux and Tomcat.

• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week.

• Must live within normal commuting distance from the Pegasystems Inc. office in Dulles, VA.
