Sr. Scientist - Liquids

Summary

The Scientist II - Liquids is responsible for working proficiently in all aspects and functions of NWF product development including but not limited to developing, duplicating and cost reducing to meet customer needs while being self-governing and accepting new responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the formulation and development of new liquid products from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct bench-top trials, pilot plant testing, and scale-up activities in collaboration with manufacturing.
• Evaluate and select appropriate ingredients and technologies to deliver desired functionality, flavor, stability, and shelf life.
• Apply food chemistry and processing knowledge to improve current products and resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, test results, processes, and technical specifications.
• Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards and labeling regulations.
• Support customer presentations and respond to technical inquiries as needed.
• Stay current on industry trends, ingredient innovations, and processing technologies.
• Perform other duties or special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum four years of experience and/or training.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office, AS400 and Lotus Notes.

Work Environment:

• General office setting.
• Periodic exposure to: (1) loud environment, (2) airborne particles with stronger odors associated with spicy food ingredients, (3) cold, hot, wet and humid conditions, (4) walking and standing on concrete, (5) climbing steps, ladders, (6) standing on elevated surfaces.
• Position is based out of our Broadview facility.

Salary - $80,000 - $85,000
