Metrology Process Development Engineer

Position Summary:

SkyWater is searching for a Metrology Engineer to join our dynamic team in the semiconductor and foundry business. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in semiconductor manufacturing processes and a proven track record developing and optimizing metrology in a high-tech, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply metrology process knowledge and expertise for new process introduction, enhancement, and sustaining projects.
  • Collaborate with integration & module engineering to design experiments for new technologies with a focus on efficient and effective measurement strategies.
  • Develop and integrate robust manufacturable process recipes for Foundry customers.
  • Equipment and material characterization.
  • Drive continuous improvement of process capability and controls.
  • Support complex process integration for CMOS/MEMS/Superconducting/Photonics or other novel device types.
  • Resolve process excursions and drive permanent Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
  • The job also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in using statistical software and tools for data analysis, such as JMP, Python, or R.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in customer facing roles.
  • US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of a government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: PhD in an Engineering discipline.
  • Project Management skills and/or defined training.
