Florence Copper is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taseko Mines Limited which is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Taseko is also the operator and the owner of the Gibraltar copper/molybdenum mine in Canada and various other development projects.

Overview:

The Process Control Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing automated control systems used in manufacturing and industrial processes. This role ensures that all process control systems function efficiently and effectively to maximize production quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot process control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and maintenance of control system components.
  • Assist in the programming, configuration, and optimization of control systems to improve production processes.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to identify and resolve control system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies regarding control system operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of control system changes, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on process control systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in industrial automation, electrical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in process control, automation, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
  • Familiarity with process instrumentation, such as flow meters, pressure sensors, and temperature controllers.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and respond to emergencies as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, wellfield, or SX/EW environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, and NFPA guidelines.
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools for process optimization.

Work Environment:

  • Industrial/manufacturing plant setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • May require standing, walking, and lifting moderate weights for extended periods.
  • Ability to work on-call as required.
