Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Process Chemist Scientist to join a dynamic process chemistry group. This position supports drug substance development programs by designing and executing complex synthetic organic chemistry experiments, troubleshooting challenges, and analyzing data to guide decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-level chemist to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative environment.
Key Focus Areas
Large-scale synthesis (100+ grams/kilos).
Small molecule expertise.
Hands-on experience with analytical tools (e.g., HPLC, GC, NMR, LCMS).
Reaction optimization and crystallization.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Execution: Plan and perform synthetic organic chemistry experiments with precision, reliability, and independence.
Analytical Proficiency: Utilize tools such as NMR, HPLC, GC, LCMS, and Biotage to monitor and analyze experimental outcomes.
Troubleshooting and Innovation: Develop creative solutions to overcome synthetic and manufacturing obstacles and contribute conceptually to scientific strategies.
Scale-Up Expertise: Support large-scale synthesis (100+ grams/kilos) and reaction optimization for drug substance development.
Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, author reports, and draft documentation compliant with cGMP standards and SOPs.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively in both independent and team-oriented settings, contributing to cross-functional projects
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:
PhD in Chemistry with 0-3 years of academic or industry experience, or
MS in Chemistry with 2-6 years of relevant experience, or
BS in Chemistry with 4-10 years of hands-on experience in synthetic chemistry.
Technical Skills
Expertise in organic synthesis and reaction setup.
Proficiency in HPLC, GC, NMR, LCMS, and crystallization.
Experience with large-scale synthesis (100+ grams/kilos).
Tools and Software:
Proficient in ChemDraw, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Other Skills:
Strong knowledge of small molecule chemistry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
