Job Summary
Teaching, development of an externally funded research program, and service activities to the Department, College, and the professional community. Tenure status: Assistant Professor (tenure-track)
Essential Functions
Teach Chemical Engineering courses as assigned by the Department Chair.
Develop and maintain a research agenda that leads to the mentorship of graduate/undergraduate students, publications, and externally funded grants.
Serve on departmental and college committees.
Other activities as assigned by the Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience with ABET-EAC accreditation and involvement in the program assessment process.
A proven record of excellence in teaching, research and service.
Experience with CHENG curriculum development.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
