Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for an Associate Scientist I, Vitamin Lab . In Abbott Nutrition Research & Development (R&D), our goal is to create innovative high-quality products, creating sustainable value, delivering superior user experience and enhancing health outcomes at all stages of life.

The Associate Scientist I will analyze for nutrient analysis of infant and medical nutritional products. The primary functions of this position are performance of analytical testing on ingredients and finished product as prescribed in various quality procedures, while assuring quality standards are met. This position also requires producing the highest quality results while operating within the constraints of the safety guidelines to meet the manufacturing schedule. Potential opportunity to assist Senior Scientist with method development and validation projects.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, analyze, and process nutrient testing on research and finished product samples.
  • Compare results to predetermined specifications to ensure analytical records are complete, accurate and in compliance.
  • Maintain good laboratory practices.
  • Perform accurate and precise testing according to laboratory methods.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with sample due dates and sample backlogs.
  • Operate various types of analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, UPLC and LC/MS.
  • Conduct investigations into method deviations and out of specifications results.
  • Ensure compliance, overall data integrity, and adherence to SOPS, safety, and in-house regulations.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong drive for results.

Education and Experience

Required

  • B.S. in Chemistry or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Basic wet chemistry techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred

  • Experience with Sample Manager (LIMS), Empower, or other lab data systems
  • Micronutrient Analysis experience
  • Experience with HPLCs

The base pay for this position is

$46,000.00 $92,000.00
