- Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent; no experience required.
Job Description:
Performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments. The Research Assistant will provide support to several projects related to study of new diagnostics for infectious diseases, and the immune and inflammatory response to infection. The studies may involve laboratory experiments with human samples or using mouse models of infection. The Research Assistant will conduct routine laboratory experiments independently or with an appropriate level of direct supervision. The Research Assistant will be required to maintain detailed and accurate written records of experiments, data analysis, and study conclusions. Training will be provided by the Principal Investigator and senior laboratory staff. Previous experience with molecular lab methods would be beneficial.
Job Duties:
- Under direct supervision, performs standard research assignments involving a series of related operations.
- Sets up and conducts standard research experiments following detailed technical instructions.
- Prepares biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected.
- Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data and provides preliminary analysis.
- Assembles, calibrates, operates and makes minor modifications to a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience $39,120 - $48,900
