Duties & Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments involving the role of nitric oxide synthase in triple negative breast cancer model cell system 4T1. Experiments will include measuring DNA and RNA methylation status (Colormetric ELISA), changes in metabolic state (Seahorse), and analysis of NOS2 expression (ELISA, qPCR).
- Evaluate tumors generated with 4T1 cells. Experiments will include evaluating changes in tumor transcriptome (RNAseq), metastasis (H&E staining of lung), changes in tumor immune profile (Flow cytometry), and analysis of NOS2 expression levels in tumors (IHC).
- Undertake lab manager duties including ordering supplies, overseeing lab equipment, and monitoring lab safety.
- Conduct biochemical studies on demethylase enzymes including expression and purification of key enzymes and examining reaction kinetics (MS, spectroscopy).
- Assist with writing grants and publications
- Bachelors degree and 5 years experience preferably in Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Master's in Biochemistry or similar area with ten years relevant experience in cell biology and biochemistry.
- Technical skills in Cell culture; Immunohistochemistry; Biochemical and Molecular Assays; qPCR, PCR, Cloning; RNA and DNA extraction and purification from cell, blood, tissue, swab; cDNA synthesis; ELISA; Protein expression and purification; Western Blot; Meta data analysis; and Mass-spec data analysis.
