Medical Laboratory Technician - Tampa, FL
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) with a Florida Clinical License. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and have a Florida Clinical Chemistry License, with a preference for generalists. This role involves running EIA testing across chemistry analyzers and requires competence in operating the AU680. The candidate should have 0-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct EIA testing across chemistry analyzers, demonstrating proficiency with the AU680.
- Maintain inventory and perform lot-to-lot validations.
- Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation effectively.
- Perform linearities and quality controls with efficiency.
- Undergo training for toxicology LC/MS review on a rotating basis.
Essential Skills
- Florida Clinical Chemistry Licensed
- Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- 0-3 years' experience in a relevant field
- Experience with lab-based molecular diagnostic systems like QuantStudio and AU680
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems, such as Tecan and Biomek
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous LC/MS toxicology experience is advantageous
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Florida Medical Technologist License in Clinical Chemistry
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Work Environment
Our work environment is laid-back and accommodating, providing a professional yet mellow atmosphere. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with weekends off and flexibility for holidays and time off. The dress code is business casual or scrubs with covered shoes. You will work alongside 6 or 7 other technicians within a team of 20-30 staff members. The environment is not fast-paced like a hospital, and there is an opportunity for training and learning in other departments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
