Lab Field Technician / Scientist

Contract: 6 to 9 months (could extend)

Location: Houston, TX

Travel Requirement: 40%

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Lab and Field Technician/Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both laboratory and field testing, with a strong technical background in chemistry and oil and gas applications. This role requires hands-on expertise with analytical equipment, the ability to follow testing protocols as directed by subject matter experts (SMEs), and a willingness to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct laboratory and field testing following established test methods and procedures.

Experience working in H2S labs conducting H2S Scavenging product testing in the lab and in the field.

Operate and maintain analytical equipment commonly used in the oil and gas industry.

Follow instructions from SMEs to execute testing protocols accurately and efficiently.

Collect, analyze, and report data from laboratory and field tests.

Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in both lab and field environments.

Maintain detailed records of test results and methodologies.

Travel to field locations as required for on-site testing and sample collection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related technical field.

Experience:

  • Prior experience with laboratory testing and field testing, preferably in oil and gas or a related industry. 2-7years experience in this setting

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in analytical methods and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 40% of time)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in oil and gas laboratories or field environments. Testing experience in:

  • Produced water and water clarification
  • Biocides
  • H2S Scavenging
  • Frac and completions testing
  • Formulation testing
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with environmental or petroleum-based testing methods.
