Job Summary

A research position is available to investigate mechanisms by which environmental factors contribute to metabolic disruption, specifically insulin resistance, hepatosteatosis and pancreatic beta-cell dysfunction. Duties include training personnel, conducting and supervising in vitro and in vivo experiments and bench top assays, and ensuring progress of all the lab's research projects.

The scientist is also responsible for preparing results for dissemination and drafting abstracts, manuscripts, and assisting in preparing nationally competitive grant proposals. Finally, the scientist ensures the laboratory is compliant regarding all federal and university regulations related to research and safety.

PhD or equivalent.
