Job Description Join a team that keeps us protected and mission-ready - BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Process Improvement Chemical Engineer to help us produce energetic materials for our government and commercial customers. An ideal candidate will have a degree in chemical engineering and an interest in process controls and hands-on engineering problem solving.
As a process engineer, you will:
- Provide process engineering support to the Explosives Manufacturing division.
- Develop new and redline existing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Develop new and redline existing interlock narratives.
- Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Facilitate and/or support process improvement projects, maintenance efforts, and modernization projects.
- Provide technical assistance and process troubleshooting for equipment and operational issues. Some on call technical support required.
- Develop new and update existing operating procedures. Assist with traning efforts on new or changed procedures.
- Interact with customers and suppliers.
- Lead/support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes.
- Develop and implement safety, quality, and process improvements in accordance with management of change requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
- 3 or more years of chemical engineering experience.
- Ability to work with a team in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting process issues, management of change, process hazard analysis.
- Experience in recrystalllization, drying, or packaging.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
