Quality Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The quality lab technician role involves testing the viscosity, salt content, and color of salad dressings, performing allergen environmental swabs, and ensuring batches meet specifications. Technicians will also document results in the program and communicate with supervisors and managers. The role primarily involves wet chemistry testing, handling raw materials, dealing with product specifications and holds, data entry, allergen testing, and generating end-of-shift reports. You will work with food safety programs and use databases for data entry.

Responsibilities

• Test the viscosity, salt content, and color of salad dressings.
• Perform allergen environmental swabs.
• Ensure batches meet specifications.
• Document results in the program.
• Communicate with supervisors and managers.
• Assist with handling raw materials.
• Deal with product specifications and product holds.
• Conduct data entry and allergen testing.
• Generate end-of-shift reports.
• Work with food safety programs and databases for data entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Biology, or Chemistry
• Associate of Science Degree plus experience in a food quality manufacturing experience
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
