Job Description

This entry-level position involves handling multiple projects accurately and in a time-sensitive manner. The role requires the application of principles from Color Measurement Technology, Materials Science, ASTM Standard Specifications, and Historic Preservation Guidelines to develop high-quality, durable, and compatible solutions for building restoration challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Handle multiple projects accurately and on a time-sensitive basis.
  • Apply principles of Color Measurement Technology, Materials Science, ASTM Standard Specifications, and Historic Preservation Guidelines.
  • Create and test experiments to solve problems.
  • Maintain meticulous record-keeping and documentation.
  • Utilize computer skills, including Excel, MS Word, and Photoshop; experience with Color Measurement and Communication software is a plus.
  • Perform basic laboratory skills with accuracy in bench-top procedures and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or Historic Preservation
  • Experience with Color Measurement and Communication software is a plus

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a single lab within a manufacturing environment, which can be loud at times. The role involves working with a small team and directly with skilled senior chemical engineers. There is a great opportunity for growth and learning, with high expectations for mastery of lab work. There is potential for transitioning to a hybrid role involving lab work and office duties, including marketing and customer interaction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
