Job Summary
This hands-on position must drive business growth, focused on new product development programs, process development, and application development. Up to 30% travel
Increase the Divisions knowledge on industrial processes relating to Filtration and Adsorbents.
Work closely with quality, manufacturing, sales, and customers to ensure our production processes are optimized and specifications meet customer needs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Must read, comprehend and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines
Expected to handle technical problems involving several variables, develop, and then execute a design-of-experiment (DoE), to rapidly determine root causes, and interconnectivity with the variables.
Key member of the Global New Product Development teams to deliver new Adsorbents, Filter Aids and Mineral Solutions that meet the customers Key Requirement Specifications.
Responsible for taking New Product Development samples from the lab, or beta-products from production, to the customer to run validation trials, and bring back actionable results.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers.
Deliver monthly reports on time, and project updates when requested.
Coordinates with external laboratory testing facilities.
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Ability to effectively apply deductive reasoning, scientific methodology, and practical problem solving techniques.
Desire to work hands-on in our laboratory, or at customers facilities.
Capable of working efficiently and accurately on multiple projects concurrently.
Computer proficient MS Office, Google Sheets, DoE software, Statistical Analysis.
Skilled in the use of equipment used for filtration and/or adsorption, from lab to full scale.
Must have effective interpersonal skills, in particular with people who have English as a 2nd language.
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and balance priorities
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary New Product Development project team
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing operation.
Education/Experience Requirements
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry
Work experience in liquid processing preferred. Familiarity with filter aid, cross-flow, and membrane filtration technology is a plus.
Environment
Standing, walking, operating equipment including lifting up to 50lb bags. Up to 70% of work time.
Sitting - using computer work station, traveling. Up to 30% of work time.
Work environment is divided between laboratories, pilot plants and production areas, where PPE is worn and hazardous chemicals are handled, and cubicle office space.
