A leading client is looking for a Materials and Process Engineer (M&P) to join their team. In this role, you will support composite development tasks, including new material and process development, as well as advancing new technologies. You will be responsible for overseeing efforts from test plan creation and early supplier development to panel and part fabrication, testing, and production introduction. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes. Aerospace materials processing and testing experience is highly preferred.

responsibilities:
  • Support the Research and Development of next generation Composite Materials, processes, and equipment for Aerostructure applications.

  • Apply knowledge of Materials Science and Engineering to develop, characterize, and test new materials and material systems.

  • Support test plan execution for materials characterization, allowable generation, and design validation

  • Support the development of engineering processes, methods, and tools.

  • Participates in a research and development environment developing new materials and associated manufacturing and application processes.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or

  • equivalent field from an accredited university.

  • 1-5 year's related experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be

  • considered).

  • Technical knowledge in one more of the areas of: adhesives, composites, metallics, polymers/elastomers, high temperature materials.

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software (CATIA, Solidworks, NX, or similar)

  • Operational knowledge of materials characterization lab equipment

  • Familiarity with statistical software, including Minitab, JMP, or similar.

  • Proactive and efficient delivery of communication and follow-up Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work in a timely manner.
Travel: Limited domestic/international travel may be required (up to 20%).
