Scientist, Antibody and Protein Engineering

We are seeking a motivated and result-driven Scientist to join our fast-paced and innovative Antibody Engineering team in the Bispecifics Department. You will be part of a group of diverse talents responsible for the design, production and characterization of next-generation antibody and protein therapeutics encompassing multiple therapeutic areas, such as muscle metabolism, neuroscience, and oncology at Regeneron. This position will have direct impact in both pipeline advancement and innovative platform development at this exciting time, as significant advancement in antibody engineering has already propelled approvals of multiple next-gen antibody-based therapies in many indications.

As a Scientist, a typical day may include the following:

  • Design and construct novel bispecific or multi-specific antibodies
  • Apply molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting) for DNA and protein generation
  • Express (in mammalian cells lines), purify, and characterize novel alternative format antibodies
  • Perform and troubleshoot in vitro bioanalytical and cell-based assays (SDS-PAGE, western blots, flow cytometry binding, reporter assay)
  • Analyze data and summarize findings in powerpoint. Effectively communicate results to management and stakeholders in group and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date data analysis, Benchling database, and timely record of electronic notebook (ELN)
  • Contribute to routine lab maintenance and logistics, such as assigning and ensuring that the groups quarterly maintenance tasks are completed.

To be considered for this role you must have a BS/MS in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in academia or industry. Must have hands-on experience in molecular cloning, protein purification. Desired candidates should be able to design experiments with proper controls, analyze data, and draw conclusions supported by the data. Candidates should have a background in molecular biology, protein expression, purification and/or biochemical/biophysical characterization. Experience with flow cytometry, mammalian cell-based assays, and/or structural biology is preferred but not required.
