Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** The Research Associate II (Database Analytics) manages multiple projects with tasks varying to degree by project. Projects may include retrospective, cross-sectional, and/or prospective studies of existing databases and/or de novo data collection. The successful Research Associate II drafts project deliverables, interacts with clients, and contributes to strategic thinking under the direction of senior staff. Supports scientific coordination and project management, including scoping, tracking progress, and coordinating teamwork for multiple projects. Projects may include retrospective, cross-sectional, and/or prospective studies. This may include studies of existing databases and/or de novo data collection. **Role and Responsibilities** + Provides input into the design of RWE studies. + Prepares drafts of proposals and project deliverables (e.g., protocols, case report forms, SAPs, reports, dossiers, abstracts, manuscripts) under direction of more senior staff. + Supports scientific coordination and project management (e.g., monitoring project scope, tracking progress to budget/timelines). + Participates in company initiatives (e.g. Center of Excellence, working groups, etc.) as appropriate based on specific area of focus, objectives, availability, and business need. + Mentors less experienced researchers. + Follows RWE documentation guidelines. **Consulting Expectations:** + Has limited exposure to client calls but is expected to be able to address questions posed directly to him/her about his/her work, otherwise participates minimally. + Contributes to strategic thinking under the direction of senior staff. **Education** **, Professional Skills & Experience:** + MSc with minimum of 2 years' experience in the health industry / consulting environment or Doctorate degree. + Experienced in quantitative methods in epidemiology, health economics or health outcomes research with the focus on data analysis using observational data (e.g. claims data, chart review, clinical trial data). + Good understanding of relevant methodology and statistics. + Previous experience in consultancy environment highly desirable, but not essential. + Working knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) and MS Office software. **Personal Skills & Competencies:** + Demonstrated ability to communicate and document information effectively in written English, including the ability to produce reports, documents, emails, and other written pieces which are well-organized, free from errors, and are appropriately adjusted to the characteristics and needs of the audience. + Strong organizational, time-management, prioritization, and decision-making skills necessary to evaluate, plan and accomplish multiple work goals in a timely fashion. + Able to quickly learn and apply new information, skills, and procedures. + Proactive and positive approach to tasks and projects, as well as resilience when encountering process, project, budget, or client changes that are inherent in the consulting environment. + Solid communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly develop and sustain positive rapport with internal and external contacts in person, over the phone and by email. Experience presenting ideas to individuals and groups in a formal presentation setting + Able to analyse complex issues and evidence, identify cause-effect relationships, and generate effective solutions. + Delivers a positive internal/external client experience; listens and understand the client's needs and recommends solutions. + Demonstrates sound professional judgment in analysing, responding to, and resolving enquiries, issues, and escalations. _PPD values the health and wellbeing of our employees. (Recruiter will provide more details.) **Compensation and Benefits** The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $80,000.00-$90,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
