- Perform clinical laboratory testing of moderate to highly complex nature under general supervision.
- Utilize automated equipment and specialized processes for testing, accurately interpreting results, and identifying abnormal specimen results.
- Adhere to established laboratory procedures, including patient identification, specimen collection, diagnostic clinical testing, and documentation and data entry into the laboratory information system.
- Recognize, document, and communicate unusual and/or critical result values.
- Monitor quality control processes and establish quality assurance and record-keeping systems.
- Participate in quality improvement programs to ensure the accuracy and validity of test results.
- Perform calibration, maintenance, and performance checks on instrumentation as per standard operating procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of maintenance schedules and operating procedures for new instrumentation, including writing technical procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation, reagents, inventory, and patient samples, evaluating methods for solutions.
- Proficiency in Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis testing.
- Experience with Chemistry Bench, Hematology Bench, Blood Bank, and Microbiology Bench.
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist MT(ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP).
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Completion of a CLS/MLS/MT training program.
- Experience in a CLIA/COLA certified lab.
- Previous experience in a hospital or Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred one year of experience, particularly in Hematology and Chemistry.
All shifts are available: Day (7AM-3:30PM), Evening (3PM-11:30PM), and Night (11PM-7:30AM), Monday through Friday, with every other weekend.
