Virus Production Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Production and titering of HIV stocks to support early discovery programs
• Preparation and/or sourcing of plasmid DNAs and reagents to support virus production
• Maintain virus stock/plasmid database
• Document work clearly
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Execution of laboratory studies in a safe and efficient manner

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Associate Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related science
• 6+ total years of laboratory experience that includes 2 years of experience with virus production and working within a BSL-2+ lab environment
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions

The ideal candidate would possess:

• 6+ years of laboratory experience, including culture of cell lines and primary cells, cell isolation from whole blood/PBMC, transfection of mammalian cells, bacterial transformation and culture, plasmid expansion, TCID50 assays, molecular biology techniques, ELISA and multicolor flow cytometry
• Virology background preferred
• 2 years of experience with virus production
• 2 years of experience working within BSL-2+ lab environment
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Experience with Geneious Prime software
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, flexibility, and a positive attitude

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
